Imagine: You are sitting in front of the desk, staring at an important email written to a high -end customer in a daze. I can’t think of a suitable word, and the pressure is getting greater.Rather than rack your brains for every sentence, it is better to help ChatGPT."Hey, ChatGPT, can you help me moisturize this email?" You knocked this sentence on the keyboardLucknow Investment. Within a few seconds, an improved version appeared on your computer screen.

With the emergence of genetic artificial intelligence (Genai for short), such scenes are staged over the world around the world.Since the launch of ChatGPT, Genai has seamlessly integrated into the daily life of about 500 million people worldwide. This is like a digital gold rush, and one of the users from 209 countries and every eight employees in the world joined this ranks.Genai’s potential for improving productivity and reshaping the economy and social aspects is simply exciting.

Our recent work papers use new data from website traffic and Google Trends to thoroughly study this extraordinary phenomenon of GENAI.We aim to clarify the speed of Genai, who is using it, and how it changes our Internet habits. The following is our discovery:

Genai’s rapid rise

Genai’s rise is shocking. As of March 2024, the top 40 GENAI tools we followed were hundreds of millions of users a month, with nearly 3 billion visits.ChatGPT is an indisputable leader in this boom. It accounted for more than 82.5%of the total traffic, global visits exceeded 2 billion, and monthly users reached 500 million.

The speed of ChatGPT is particularly noteworthy.ChatGPT set the fastest -growing consumer software record in history. After the release of the ChatGPT 3.5 version updated in May 2023, it reached 100 million users in just 64 days.It is not just CHATGPT. The number of users launched by Baidu has exceeded 200 million in just 8 months after its launch.

However, although these numbers are impressive, the traffic of the Genai tool is still behind the most popular websites. There are signs that the market is saturated and competitive. For example, the traffic obtained by ChatGPT is less than 2%of Google’s daily traffic. In addition, since mid -2023, the growth of a number of GENAI tools, including ChatGPT, has become flat, indicating that the initial freshness may be fading and competition is heating up.Looking forward to the future, Genai’s future growth may depend on whether it can break through the boundaries of AI capabilities and explore the innovation methods of integrating these tools into various applications. With the development of the situation, in order to maintain a leading position, it is necessary to constantly adjust and explore new possibilities for the AI field.Lucknow Wealth Management

Early adopted by Genai: Who is using and how to use it?

Genai’s user portrait provides valuable insights with its advantages and challenges.Users of these tools are mainly young men who have received higher education.Only one -third of ChatGPT users are women, which is significantly lower than Google (48%for women) and Wikipedia (52%for women).Among users, users aged 18 to 24 are the most active, especially using Genai video generation tools.Nearly half of the chat robot users have a university degree, exceeding the education level of Google’s user base.

Interestingly, the use mode shown by ChatGPT is in sharp contrast to traditional entertainment platforms such as Netflix.Nai Fei appeared on the weekend, and the usage of ChatGPT reached its peak on the working day, showing an obvious roller coaster model. In contrast, Google’s traffic seemed to be relatively stable. The weekend usage drops to about two -thirds of the high use of the working day, which indicates that people may use Genai to complete the tasks related to work.

Genai’s rise is reshaping our digital habits. With more and more users learn and solve problems through artificial intelligence -driven alternatives, traditional platforms have also felt pressure. For example, since the launch of GPT-4, Wikipedia has declined, while Google Translation and Grammarly (online grammar correction and school pairing tool) have rebounded after enhancing artificial intelligence functions.More and more users rely on ChatGPT to obtain information, enhance skills and perform language processing. At the same time, ChatGPT also helps to complete more complicated cognitive and analytical tasks. With the continuous development of Genai, understanding of its user structure and use model is essential for developers and enterprises who seek full use of their potential.

Figure 2. Generate artificial intelligence, especially ChatGPT, shows that its use has spread all over the world. As of the end of March 2024, 209 economies of 218 economies have records.Data source: SEMRUSH and the author calculated.

Although Genai has a wide range of influences, its adoption rate varies from the level of the country. As of the end of March 2024, ChatGPT’s user scope has covered 209 countries, showing an impressive global diffusion trend. However, this diffusion is not without challenges, and the continuous digital gap is still obvious.

Low -income countries account for less than 1%of the GENAI traffic, highlighting these countries facing obstacles in acquiring and using such technologies. In contrast, middle -income countries unexpectedly became the star of the Genai phenomenon, accounting for half of the total traffic of ChatGPT, and ranked in a dominant position. It is worth noting that within 6 months after the tool was released, the ChatGPT traffic of the middle -income countries exceeded the high -income country.Compared with its GDP, power consumption and search engine traffic, India, Brazil, the Philippines, and Indonesia have shown a high GENAI adoption rate.

Figure 4. This figure shows the key indicators of the country with the top 2 to 9 of the top 2 to 9 compared to the United States.Compared with its GDP, power consumption and search engine flow, the Genai adoption rate of middle -income countries shows a high tendency to be incomparable.Data source: GENAI and search engine traffic data from Semrush, representing the total number of generated artificial intelligence tools ranked 40 in March 2024 and the total visits of Google, Bing, and Yahoo.Power consumption data in 2022 came from the US Energy Information Administration.GDP calculated in the current price of 2023 is from the International Monetary Fund.

As a result, Genai’s Genai uses several key factors in different levels as follows:

Digital infrastructure: There is a significant correlation between high -fixed broadband penetration rate, fast Internet speed, and rising usage of the Genai tool.

Specialization of the digital industry: Economys that focus on digital delivery services and have strong talents often show a higher adoption rate.

English proficiency: Although the degree of fluent in English is closely related to the high usage rate of chat robots, it does not necessarily extend to other types of Genai tools or general network traffic.

Youth Power: There is a large population scale between the size of the youth population and the high adoption rate of Genai.

Genai benefits the whole people: ensure fairness and nature and inclusiveness

Genai’s change potential is huge, but it is also facing a serious challenge to ensure that its income is equal.Although the prospects of the rapid adoption of these technologies in secondary -income countries have also highlighted the continuous expansion of the gap between the low -income countries.

Policy makers play a vital role. It is necessary to speed up the investment pace of digital infrastructure, promote the improvement of digital skills, and support the development of the digital industry. To solve the language barrier of artificial intelligence tools and take measures to ensure that the use of artificial intelligence is in line with moral norms, it is also very important for industry interests.Through a deeper understanding of the adoption model and its influence, we can strive to achieve the benefits of artificial intelligence in the future. This will not only help achieve sustainable and inclusive global growth, but also fullyUse the potential of digital technology to improve the lives of everyone on the planet.
